As part of the Ted Wragg Trust of schools, we are celebrating the successes and achievements of our students here at Isca Academy following the release of our GCSE results. We are exceptionally proud of all of our students and are thrilled by their results this year which reflect their hard work, dedication and commitment over many years.
Our headline results this year indicate a 3 year upward trend in attainment, with over 69% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths and 53% a grade 5 or above in both subjects. These results mean that even more of our students can now go on to study Level 3 Courses at College and we are delighted that 98% of our students have already secured a route into education, employment or training this year.
Some notable individual successes include:
Cosmo Stanier and Walter Moyes are our highest achieving students with Cosmo achieving 9 and Walter 8 Grade 9’s across a range of subjects. Both students have applied for A Level courses at College with Walter applying for the Reach Academy too and with these results, we are sure they will continue to be incredibly successful. Billy Turl also performed well with grade 9’s in Maths, Physics and PE which support his post 16 choices where he will study A Levels in Economics, Maths and Further Maths as well as joining the College Sports Academy. Daisy Harries will go on to study A Levels in Music, Biology, English Language and Geology and her grade 9 in English, 7’s and 8’s in many others, as well as Distinction* in her Performing Arts Subjects of Drama and Music will equip her well for her Post 16 education. Daisy also studied GCSE Music alongside her other subjects and achieved a grade 8. Felia Le has also performed well with multiple Grade 9’s in GCSE Music, French and Spanish. This, in addition to her Distinction* in Music BTEC, will enable her to access and be extremely successful with her course choices of A Level Music, Spanish and French at College next year.
There are so many other individual successes and all of the students’ hard work has meant they are able to move on to the destination of their choice, including a significant number going on to study Level 3 courses or Advanced Apprenticeships. We wish you all the best of luck and are very much looking forward to hearing about your successes in the future. Today’s results are truly deserved, you have been a remarkable year group who have faced such a challenging year, well done to you all.
