Dear Parents and Carers,

As we embark on the last two weeks of the summer term, I wanted to let you know about our plans for the end of this term as well as providing you with information in preparation for our return in September. I will also send a further letter to you next week detailing our full plans for the start of term in September.
Although the government restrictions are due to be lifted/eased on 19th July, we will continue to follow our existing safety measures for the rest of this term. All adults will wear face coverings and maintain social distancing and students will remain in year group bubbles and social spaces. All students will be required to continue to use the hand sanitiser on entry to the building and to their classrooms.
Sports day
Sports day this year will take place on Tuesday 20th July. For this day only, all students need to arrive at school in their full PE Kit. Events will take place in year group bubbles and unfortunately there will not be an opportunity for parents to spectate this year. The results from sports day will be revealed in the end of term assembly.
Last day of term
The last day of term will be Friday 23rd July. We will hold our whole school assembly, as we usually would but this will take place outside and weather permitting. On this final day of term, students will leave school at the earlier time of 1pm. If you are collecting your child, please note there will be no vehicle movement on site and the school gate will be locked between 12.55pm and 1.15pm, to allow the safe exit of the site by our students.
There will be a few changes to our uniform in September. The changes are outlined below:

  • All students in Years 7-10 will be required to have a PE weatherproof jacket, these can be ordered through Price and Buckland or through SCOPay. This will allow all PE lessons to take place outside, no matter what the weather. Financial assistance is available if required, please contact us to discuss this individually.
  • Current year 9 students will need to order their blazer jacket in readiness for their move into Year 10 in September. Again, this can be ordered through Price and Buckland or through SCOPay. Please be mindful that, in our experience, boys in this year group tend to have a big growth spurt in the summer holidays, you would be advised to go up at least one jacket size to allow for growth.
  • Please note we are removing white socks from our uniform from September. Students will be expected to wear black socks / tights only.

Thank you as always for your support.
