Teacher of Geography

Permanent, Full-Time

Do you have a relentless drive to achieve outstanding outcomes for children regardless of their background and prior learning?

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, capable and innovative teacher, with a proven commitment to inclusive and inspiring teaching where each and every child is challenged and supported to succeed. You will be an enthusiastic specialist able to teach Geography across KS3 and KS4. The post represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and ambitious Academy working within the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust.

We are a passionate and collaborative Geography Department with an excellent track record of results. At GCSE, our students currently study EDUQAS Geography Syllabus B, which is a popular option for the students and addresses a wide range of physical, human and environmental aspects of the subject. As a department we offer a weekly drop-in session for any KS4 student who would like additional support with classwork, homework or revision. At KS3, a broad range of modules cover map skills, population, development, ecosystems and natural hazards. Skills and themes are built upon each year throughout the five year journey of Geography. Increasingly we are collaborating with other trust schools to ensure all schools have access to the highest quality resources. Fieldwork is integral and takes place in all year groups in order to develop skills and knowledge outside of the classroom and bring Geography to life. Additionally, we currently offer a biannual Geography/Science fieldwork residential to Mallorca, which has proved very popular with students and staff alike.
